Herein I shall babble about body fat percentage, nutritional goals, etc. I'm making it public to that people can give/get advice, use me as their guinea pig, whatever. I am NOT looking for people to comment with anything along the lines of "Oh silly Rachel, I think you look fine", or to try and stage some kind of intervention because you think that anyone who exercises more than 4 hours a week is insane, or gripe because my idea of fit is different than yours. If you can't resist the urge to do that, just don't read it. Seriously.

Nutrition Stats
A few days ago I started tracking my nutrition basics - calories, fat, carbs, protein, and fiber. I was surprised to find that my calories were a little too high, but I'm actually happy about that because it means I can eat less (if I can get my stomach to shut up). My carbs are waaaaaay too high. I'm not even remotely a fan of low-carb diets, and I burn a lot with exercise, but even so. I'm going for the 45/35/20 carb/protein/fat ratio, and my carbs were more like 70%. :D And of course I need more protein. My fat's about right - probably because the highest fat food I eat regularly is tortilla chips. My fiber's a little low. So I guess this means more meat/beans, less bread/juice. :( And more protein shakes, which I'm fine with except my tummy's already pretty bloated. Fooey.

Body fat
I finally measured my body fat percentage, which I've been wanting to do for ages. I'm at 24%, which according to the chart is on the edge between Ideal and Average. This chart amused me because the lowest section is Lean, and I'm like "But...lean is ideal..." Anyways, that's not too bad, but I'd like to get down to 20%. In a perfect world I'd like to be 15%, but I don't think I'll ever have the time or willpower to accomplish that. I'd also like to put on at least 10lbs of lean muscle. So I'm trying to trim fat while gaining weight, which will be interesting. Last time I was in really good shape I managed to cut up pretty well, but I never did gain the mass I wanted. Hopefully working harder at my nutrition (as opposed to figuring that if it's healthy it's good enough) will make a difference.

Exercise
Kevin can work Tuesday nights, thank god, so MA is a go. :) So that'll be 6hrs/week, dancing is about 30 minutes, I can't remember how long AW and I are at the gym but for ease we'll call it 30 minutes, and then at least one day a week I should be working out for at least 1hr at home, for a total of 8 hours of exercise per week. Hm...I'd like to do more, but then I'd have no recovery time. I'm also going to try and fit in some random thing every week - while it was warm I'd go hiking, maybe I'll finally go skiing again, stuff like that. We'll see how it goes.

In other foody news, Panera's Cranberry Walnut Panettone is SO FUCKING GOOD. Seriously. Go eat some. RIGHT NOW. I'm going to build a time machine just so that I can buy a 37 pounds of it and send it to my future self to eat once they stop making it.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again - I &hearts Lori's. I don't really like food very much, and often have trouble getting myself to eat, so I sometimes indulge in new (weird) foods to keep myself interested. Today's insane Lori's find? Coconut Curry Milk Chocolate. You heard me.
