A Quest! (and a Teaser)

Today I am going on a quest.

What kind of quest?

So kind of you to ask! Today I am going on an quest for fuel.

Like cheap gas prices?

No, not the expensive kind you put in your car. You see, I've felt a bit stagnant over the last couple days trying to get in the groove of two stories, KEEPER, and the sequel to TSM. My imagery feels too similar to me. And since the imagery and inspiration for both works are the products of my imagination, being grounded in no sort of reality, I am going on a quest to fuel that imagination. I've been seeing the same things lately, same rooms and trees and streets.

Where will you go?

I don't know. I'm thinking I'll go find a forest, maybe a couple parks, a bookstore, a dirt road. England. Who knows? (not England, just yet). But I certainly hope that wherever it is, I find something. I go back to school in under three weeks, and then there will be so little hope of writing. I desperately need to make use of this time.

On to a short little teaser From KEEPER:

"Toren was a city not unlike one of our own, from a time now past. The city of Toren had a vacuous stare, a place of stone and glass, of gray and a kind of hollow light. Clean but dull like unpolished silver. Evan would later learn that the city of Toren had no soul. It did have a heart, though the thing beat so quietly, resigned to such deep, encumbered sleep, that no one could hear. It also had a wall, one that kept it from the outside, partitioned it from the fields and trees and wild things of the world beyond. And it must have been a very strong wall, because nothing ever dared to pass within. Nothing would grow in the city of Toren."
