Glinda put out the finishing touches on the tables, and stood back for a moment to admire her handiwork. She kept her wand nearby, in case she would need to create tents for everyone to continue the party under.

"Now I just need some guests!" she declared aloud.

Lacey had even brought a gift basket with some wine and homemade muffins, hand-decorated with tissue paper flowers that had taken her most of the past two days to put together.

"How thoughtful!" Glinda said, as she looked over the basket. "I don't believe that we've met. I'm Glinda Upland, and you are?"

"Lacey Burrows. I run the diner in town." She smiled hopefully and held the basket out. "It's nice to meet you, Glinda. You're one of the new teachers this term, aren't you?"

"Yes. I teach public speaking," Glinda replied, setting the basket aside. "I can't say that I've been to your restaurant yet, but I'm sure it's lovely."

"Yes," Glinda replied. "I wished for a change in pace, and found myself here."

If by found herself here, she meant spent two days floating over the town in a bubble.

Lacey would say that beat being duped into believing she'd won a vacation only to discover it was a one way trip. And then she'd spaz over the bubble, because that sounded neat.

"Well, I'm glad that's working out for you so far. It's a nice little place, isn't it? Even if it is a little strange."

Yes, she did seem genuinely sad about that.
