Yeah, that's my favorite verse to send back to bible thumpers that just quote bible verses to be holier than thou. Or when a high horse is mounted and other books are "evil" while the Bible is pristine.

Because they like to skip the darker parts. It's to sexual in imagery and they are soooo sure sex is evil and to be avoided...by other people. (Ok, other people they don't want to screw.) They also hate the parts where God just up and leaves the devout to their own resources...OH, and a good one is where Jesus explains that you're to leave nonbelievers alone. They REALLY hate that one. Something about shaking the sand from your sandles as you leave.

Did you know there are 2 places in the Bible that God utters the word "Fuck"?

Oh, and try reminding people that the verse was mistraslated and it is "suffer a **POISONER** not to live." (which was another term for "doctor". This is ironic in the fact that doctors used this verse to run midwives that were possibly witches out of their practices.
