Character's name: Alistair Theirin (or just Alistair)
Character's LJ: veryshinyknight
Character's canon: Dragon Age: Origins (NPC)

Brief (around 300 words) personality outline of your character: Alistair is a Grey Warden, one of the last two in Ferelden. The former in and of itself is very important to him, as it shaped his life more than being sent to the Chantry, at least to him.  He viewed Duncan, the man who recruited him into the Grey Wardens, as something of a father figure, as much (if not more so) than Arl Eamonn Guerin was.  Alistair only knows that his mother was a serving wench who died birthing him. His father, however, was Maric Theirin, King of Ferelden.  He seems almost embarrassed about that fact when he reveals it to the Warden at Redcliffe Village, though.

He tends to be a bit on the naive and innocent side, seeming to want to believe in the best in people, and nearly (more like outright) pouting if he's disappointed. He is moral, friendly, loyal, and good of heart, the latter two of which were what led Duncan to exercise the Right of Conscription on him and bring him into the Wardens in the first place.

Until one gets to know him, Alistair seems to be something of a social chameleon, presenting the person with what he believes they want to see. Goofiness is a defense mechanism, for him. He is somewhat shy, and can also be sarcastic. He isn't very quick to anger, but challenging his beliefs or mocking him is a good way to get him there.

Brief (around 500 words) history and background of your character OR link to a really good wiki page with their history. In either case, explain where they cut off from the timeline: http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Alistair || http://social.bioware.com/wiki/dragonage/index.php/Alistair.   Notable differences are in his version of reality (under the Darkspawn Chronicles heading in the first link), he did NOT annul the Circle Tower during Broken Circle. The rest are pretty much up in the air, from the point in time I'm taking him from.  Alistair has not yet presented "his" Warden with a rose. I figure while this cuts his power a bit because of taking him from early in the timeline, it will also make him less mopey. No one wants a mopey Alistair. NO ONE.

Sample post (just a general, everyday, puttering-around-the-ship post; please include a snippet of dialogue):

||Crewman Alistair, for your safety and that of others, you are required to shower.|| Stacy's voice was patient, but held a tone tending towards a mother dealing with a petulant child. Or, well, a petulant Grey Warden, in this case.

"Do I haaaave to? It's creepy!" Alistair complained, gesturing at the--well, he didn't know what it was, but he knew it was creepy, and not even this Maker-knew-what-it-was was getting him in there. He might never come out!

He stood there, resolute in his armor--until a sneaky pair of tentacles grabbed him, disrobed him, and chucked him unceremoniously in the sonic shower.

The resulting screams could be heard down the hall.

If the character has magic, mutant, or otherwise metahuman abilities, please explain what they are and outline EXACTLY how they function, as their powers may not work due to the nature of the ship or may need to be limited somehow: Links to Wikia for ease. http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Templar || http://social.bioware.com/wiki/dragonage/index.php/Templar.  I will note that Alistair never got the full Templar training, so he's not addicted to lyrium like other Templars. He can, however, discern lyrium addiction in others. Not that I expect that to be a problem.

Non-superhuman special abilities of note (Is your character a master ventriloquist? A naturally-occurring super-genius? The best martial artist in the world? Say so here): He is a cheese connoisseur.
