Eliot is fine.

Do you want just a lesson with the apples, or in addition to a main course?

Okay! I think I like it better anyway!

Hmm. [Choices, choices.] Just apples! There are so furry many of them.

Then you'll be learning two recipes and how to dry apples for later consumption and use.

Will one of the recipes be how to make something sweet with apples??

At the very least. You might learn more if we have enough time after those three things.

[Though someone is going to regret Nepeta knowing how to make her own sugar highs. Probably.]

Yay! I'd like to furry much purrease! I'll pay lots and lots of attention to the lessons, more than efur!

[Oh yes. Especially if he still dislikes being pounced on.]

Also, as many require waiting to finish setting, it might be ready by the time you get back to your den.

[Some pouncing will be inevitable, but maybe the worst will be back at her place. Experience with kids has him hoping this.]

Hive!

But I want to share it with you too!

[Nepeta would probably show up on his doorstep all hopped up on sugar and wanting to play a game. Escape is impossible.]

Right. Well, you won't be bringing everything home with you.

[HE'LL STILL TRY. ...he's so going to be searching for alcohol at some point, thanks to this excuse.]

Also when the weather is colder, part of the lessons will go into learning how to make soups and stews. Learning to make the broth, and getting familiar with adding ingredients at different points.

We can share it all fur a teaparty together!

[Careful, Eliot, she'll probably manage to get into that too somehow.]

That sounds pawsitively delicious! Where did you learn how to cook so many things?

... Maybe.

[Because as much of a loner Eliot is, sometimes kids can be a weak point. Even if they're teenagers. He's not sure if he'll manage to say no when she tries a teaparty. Also he'll leave the liquor at the bar. No bringing it home, even if Nepeta knows not to snoop around for his items of 'interest.']

I started to learn back in high school, and it just kinda stuck. So I continued some classes since then.

[It's all because of the knives, man. 'Hold it one way, dice an onion. Hold it another, cut through 8 Yakuza in a few seconds. All about context, just like people.' Not a direct quote, but approximately what he says.]

Purrfect!

[Nepeta is used to hearing no as an answer. That doesn't mean she'll let him get out of it easily!]

I see! ...what's a high school?

[She'd actually approve of that very much. Nothing like having versatile skills.]

A place for teenagers to learn. Most schools have about 30 kids to a single teacher for each subject they're learning. Math, science, social studies, there's a period for physical activities, and the rest of the subjects can vary from student to student.

You'll probably learn about the holidays and how they're celebrated soon enough. A lot of the people around here seem the type to bring it to the network.
