[The feed started with guitar going through the first few bars. After the briefest of pauses, a voice comes through with a man singing a country ballad with the kind of emotion that ties it together. Until towards the end...]

When you find your way to another town, and someone tries to lay you down and a feeling hits you right out of the blue...

-=Another caterwauler.=-

Depends on who you want to report.

[That towards the singing or him being growly, though?]

Seems none of them are here, unfortunately. Or fortunate, considering the circumstances.

-=Singing. Ed has... issues.=-

Probably fortunate, unless they're dead. Adstring isn't really a vacation resort.

[... I'm not touching that one with a 2 meter pole. xD]

I've come to realize that pretty quickly. So this place actually brings the dead here, too?

Yeah. I know of at least one person who was dead in their world show up here alive and well.

Huh. This place is really something. Guess it'd be pointless to bring someone here when they ain't alive.

[And if he weren't under the guise of some country artist, he'd be trying to get more information.]

Not necessarily. Shock value. Torture. Entertainment. -=He's been here long enough to know the Animus like having playthings.=-

The things that bring us here like doing that often, using corpses for such reasons?

[Why yes, he does sound apprehensive, worried, and maybe something else.]

Well, for one they're not corpses. They're alive and breathing like the rest of us.

I think we got a bit of a miscommunication thing here. When I said it'd be pointless to bring people here when they ain't alive, I meant bringing them here while still corpses.

[Making the reasons why they would sound weirder than what Ed intended.]

Oh. Well, considering there's no permanent death here, it would be pointless.

[He's doing his best to look really confused here.]

Huh... So what, people just get better after dying 'round here?

Reply

saintedsinner August 7 2011, 18:25:06 UTC
Yeah, but they usually lose something in the process. A limb, a memory.... Usually it's not good.

Basically like a price for having to come back to life.

There's a price for everything.

[Something Eliot knows very well, but Kenneth seems to be considering before giving a solitary nod.]

Yeah, I can see that as a solid principle.
