Not much time to write tonight-- I have to memorize the first twenty elements of the Periodic Table, read maybe ten more chapters of A Farewell to Arms, and resist the tempting lure of unseen Devil May Cry anime. [Saints preserve me!]
Yes! It's been forever since I've posted here, I feel like a slacker.
In my defense, Friday night was hectic and full of homework scribbling and falling asleep at ten from exhaustion. Then, skipping school Saturday was filled with successful ballroom dancing from nine 'til noon, a fast, bizarre run-in with an ex at McDonalds, and then it was like PARTY TIEM WOO YAH at a friend's house. We played a lot of Rock Band, watched only one episode of Majin Tantei Nogami Neuro, to my dismay.
Rock Band was fun. I'm not surprised I sucked hardcore on the drums-- I have a hard enough time not falling down stairs-- you want me to use a third limb while gaming?! I only did vocals once, and I'm sure some poor starving children in Thailand died from it. [lolololololololol skiez r chick n she sing "Say It Ain't So" lolololol beer.] And, as usual, I flailed around on the guitar controller-- but the "Bass Groove" effect was admirably trippy.
Before long, the sun went down, we ate yet more pizza and candy, there was much struggling and hysterical laughing, and the word of the day was "boobs."
[It didn't help that we discovered "Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld" was on Rock Band.]
Also, it was decided that
the Kitty Cat Dance was entirely too addicting. [Yes, you have probably seen it, but you know you should watch it again.]
I found the
MP3, if you feel the overwhelming need to make it the center of your life.
...
Not that... I have... or anything.
...
So we end up playing Silent Hill: Homecoming long into the night, and I sit through inept political discussions and talk to people I don't know on my friend's MSN messenger, and I fall asleep with said friend holding onto my legs.
All in all, my Saturday and following night were just about like every over sleepover I have at that friend's house. XD
I woke up with my ribs hurting like someone had been gnawing on them, a mouth feeling like the original shag carpeting in the Mystery Machine, and the same friend still curled around my calves. I always sleep on the same couch, despite it's effect on my sleeping habits... but there's nowhere else to be, so I guess it has to work.
Anyway, the more exciting thing about today was the fact that I went shopping, and blew a lot of money!
Total haul?
- a book of action and other poses, which makes me so incredibly happy. A good pose makes a world of difference in your art.
- volumes 1 & 2 of
Venus Versus Virus, which appears to be nicely-drawn otherworldly shoujo-ai. SCORE.
- A Farewell to Arms. Which means I have to start reading it. BLAST.
- some kind of biography of the Gorillaz? "Rise of the Ogre." I wasn't sure what the hell it was, but it was seven bucks and had the Gorillaz on it. YESBUY. So far, it's insightful, and pretty nostalgic. Besides being incredibly strange.
It made me wonder about Gorillaz vs. Dethklok. I mean, Dethklok is pretty metal, but the Gorillaz are the original animated band. Plus, they're sort of a band that happens to be animated, while Dethklok is kind of an animation that happens to be a band.
- the Killers' "Sam's Town" CD- I know they just came out with a new album, although the name escapes me. I just looked at, like, the forty copies of it sitting on the shelf, and the one copy of "Sam's Town," and figured, ... should I go for what I know is good, or buy the album no one else is? In the end, "Sam's Town" was cheaper, and I'm wary about buying CD's I know nothing about in the first place. [From previous experience.]
- a new pair of earbuds. I hate buying new earbuds, because it's usually an unhappy, uncomfortable waste of money. These, however, seem to be working alright, for only being ten bucks.
- Vol. 3 of the Devil May Cry anime. * w * So pretty. Dante isn't quite as swashbuckling as he is in the games, and half the time I just want to throw a book of sex tips at him and shout "BE HAPPY" but who am I to complain? The music is nice, Patty is irritating, and I love the way Dante's voice actor says everything like it's the final line of an action movie. [Try doing that for a day. Your friends and your ego will hate you.]
That's about all for now. I should be sleeping right now, and by that I mean I should be studying.
GAH.
I want to make, like, a million icons for VVV.
C'mon, cute girls in goth loli, guns, and an eyepatch?!
How can you go wrong?!
