Today was fun. Alex tried convincing me that it was going to be crap since it was cold out for a change. I was really tired and wanted to go back to sleep, but then I called AJ and he sounded really stoked to go snowboarding. AJ's excitement fired me up and motivated me to get out of the bed and stop being a bitch. I put on an extra layer, got my stuff together and walked to the car. I noticed it wasn't as cold as I was expecting it to be, nice. On the way there I got stuck behind 3 minivans going well under the speed limit on 515. I would have passed, but there was a cop hiding out by the passing section. I have never gone so slow on that road before in my life. At one point I looked in my rear view mirror and saw that a train had formed. There were about 12 cars in this train. I pulled into the lot and spotted AJ's Jeep, which was parked next to Keith's BMW. I obviously parked next to them, thus forming the trifecta. The granite lift was stopped when I walked up and I waited like 15 minutes to get on the chair. I was pretty heated, but walked it off. It was some good timing though because as I rode into the Sugar park, Keith came charging in seconds after. He was with his friend Jen and AJ. The gondola line wasn't as bad as I was expecting. They were excited about the mini park, so we went in there and hiked it once for good measure. A run or two later, AJ left us to meet up with his sister. There were no hard feelings, even though he slighted us. He would later meet back up with us for lunch, so it would be all good (hehe). I wanted to ride the real park to check it out even though they claimed it was crap. I thought it was good. They were making snow in there, so I could see why one wouldn't be so stoked on it, but I didn't mind. The cbox wasn't in prime condition, but most everything else was fun. Independence was getting covered in manmade snow, so I have high hopes for that trail. Basically took a few more runs through there and headed out for lunch. Joe joined us for lunch, which took place at Burger King on this day. It was a good lunch, I'd say.
