(no subject)
two entries in one month, i must be doing a lot of living. actually i just wanted to post about a surgery i had two days ago, mostly for my own memory. it was an outpatient procedure to get nasal polyps removed from my nostrils and sinus cavities. my nose is a little dried up with mucus and blood and my senses of smell and taste are a little lacking but overall good. i have a follow up next week where i'll get all the blood clots and whatever else might be leftover suctioned out so that'll be fun. and hopefully by then my senses of smell and taste will be completely back. other than that i have a little soreness in my nose and upper teeth. i'm also taking a lot of antibiotics and steroids but those will be all done soon too. i can already breathe better so that's a relief. i'm hoping to be in tip top shape in another week or so. now onto the gross pictures!
the day of the surgery, about to go to bed. i'm still sort of groggy and tired from sedation and anesthesia. my nose was steadily dripping blood that day and i had to sleep sitting up so that the blood wouldn't go down my throat when i slept. yeah, exactly: awesome.
one of the stents i had in my nose that i accidentally pulled out thinking it was a blood clot. i mean, the blood clot is there but it was attached to the stent! it was like contact lens material. my surgeon placed those in my nose to keep the walls of my nostrils from touching/sticking/scarring. the other one came out today. it felt like it was being pulled out of my brain.
