dear fake diary,
it's time for my monthly update! aren't you excited? right now i am at my mom's place in texas. it's hotter than new york as far as temperature but definitely less humid. not sure which i prefer! but i can tell you that i am happy to be going back soon, no matter what. things i have done in texas so far: saw killer joe (absurd, dark, funny, go see it); eaten barbeque, tex-mex, and in and out (i don't see what the fuss is about); slept in late and woke up early (noon and 630a, respectively); hung out with old friends; got a haircut; watched a shit ton of olympics; and went to three malls.
this summer has been pretty fun so far. it's almost over now i guess. labor day is right around the corner. harjit and i will be going to portland for my friends' wedding that weekend, which should be fun. i don't think it will be very fancy so that's a relief. here are some pictures to illustrate what i've been doing:
me in the actual barn studio that jackson pollock worked in. pretty awesome. those stylish green foam slippers were provided for us so as not to mess anything up. this was in east hampton on the way to montauk.
harjit and our first foray onto the beach in montauk. we parked in the IGA lot and walked over!
free tastings at blue point brewery in patchogue. ended up leaving with three growlers and stickers, heh.

babe's in frisco. i used to go to the one in roanoke sometimes. they used to only have fried chicken and chicken fried steak on their menu. now it also includes roast chicken, chicken fingers, and pot roast. cray.
