I've been too busy of late to experiment any more with this book. Mother says it's possible to write messages specifically for the eyes of one person, that are completely secure, but offered little explanation about how to do this. I assume I'm supposed to focus my thoughts on making the words private though this makes little sense to me. However, I admit I've viewed these books with skepticism from the beginning. Obviously, the stories about them transferring words to other books across great distances is true but I'm still hesitant to write anything of great significance here. This seems to be a very insecure mode of communication to me. After all, I have no way of knowing who else might be reading.

I think I'll stick to journaling in code.
