He definitely cries in 21, as everyone else says. But it's open to interpretation whether it's real. I mean, I'm sure he really does feel sad, but I've read some complaints along the line that he probably didn't know how to cry well since the tears seemed fake, as if he used the tear dropper for that...

(But I have my own rational explanation for that! It could be at the time of episode 21, Mirai is not yet familiar with crying, which is probably an emotion not exist with the Ultras. By the time episode 47 comes around, he can cry a lot more believably. Not that I ever doubt his sincerity (not even with the fake river of CG tears in episode 24.))

I did recall the final episode. But considering that was not originally in the script, I wonder if it still counts?

This is the first time I've seen that. But I'll count that simply because it is shown. Personally, everything I see in the series is canon for me. And, not to mention, who would understand Mirai better than the actor who plays him?

P.S. I don't like wireless either. My current internet connection is similar to that, and I get cut off regularly. :(

While I don't have ep 21 on hand to double-check, from what I recall I think he might have been more on the verge of crying than actually doing so. Which, still counts, but may explain why it looks 'fake'. I'm also fond of the idea of him not really knowing how.

True, if the director and producer let it make the final cut, then it's canon. Also, yeah, Shunji might be more of an expert on Mirai than even the writers! xD

Wireless is just so unreliable! I guess that shows how much of an internet addict I am if I get upset over the thought of an unstable connection... D:
