My last attempt at fast leveling brought me to the fields outside Cognito, where in the distance an ominous structure looms. Clearly we must go check it out.
Abandoned building?
War-torn colosseum?
...nuclear warhead storage?
The building is actually the Cognito dungeon, but there are no mobs there so I suppose it's not fully implemented.
I moved on to the Forest of Echoes, a field away.
It's a desert-forest? The trees pour sand and there are HUGE BUGS. Mosquito and butterfly things.
Also these guys. щ(ﾟДﾟщ)
Oh, I mentioned the Cognito NPC's similarity to Nazis.
So, check it out.
In a pit-stop at Hodemimes I saw this interesting sight.

Bored of slowly running through Cognito, I decided to hit up the last available town, Alfreim.
Welcome to Alfreim, the home of the Ellrs, the as of yet unimplemented second race of RO2.

These are Ellrs. They're much shorter than Normans, the "human" race, and they focus on magic instead of classes.
The trees are really tall.
I scored myself some new gear while in the Forest of Echoes so I had to hit up Hodemimes again.
Verus got himself some real armor!

It wouldn't be a RO2 post without spotting this guy again.
Another headgear swap, but at least this one matches.
Tired of killing monsters my level, I explored outside Alfreim into the scary realm of mobs 6 - 8 levels above my own. (aka death wish without lots and lots of potions)
I discovered the RO2 version of the Goblin tribe!
In RO1, there were 5 or so different kinds of Goblins. Each type had a certain weapon and mask.
I've only seen two different masks so far.
My goal for today was to get my weapon level to 22. Why, you ask? Well, in RO2, there are auges that change the appearance of your weapon...
At level 22...
