Glenwood Hot Springs (Colorado)
... we decided to check it out after our neighbor recommended it one day. It has been his favorite R&R place for the last forty years, so our curiosity took over.
Not that you can do too much of activities in Glenwood Hot Springs itself, beside swimming, soaking, or anything else that is spa-related. Of course you can check out the town, which is pretty neat. Or do hiking, white water rafting. Winter time should be better - simply because of all the near-by ski places: Aspen, Breckenridge, or Copper Mountain, for example. This is, if fact what we are planning to do this winter.
Road: I-70
Time to drive from Denver: about 2Hrs
From Colorado Springs: about 3Hr. This is probably also time to drive from DIA via I-470(partially toll) to I-70
