So I've been on my ridiculously early misd-semester break, courtesy of this early easter. At least I don't have to worry about that one for oh... another 200 years. I can't see it interrupting my uni schedule then.
On the art side I have come to the conclusion that the calico idea was nice in theory, but is not going to work. I have exhausted every option, but did conveniently find a stack of backed hot or cold-press watercolour board which is about 3mm thick. Talk about happy accident. Which means a combination of watercolour and guache. So far I have been able to make an acceptable background colour. Who knew that dusky rose, or Victorian Pink as it is sometimes called is so goddamn hard to create! At last, however, by a reversal of colour logic I have somehow managed to make my way out of lolly pink and miss the Mauve. Its amazing to think that the only difference between mauve and dusky rose is wether the blue is applied first or last.
*facepalm*
On the Uni note, I have been trying admirably to get my head into politics where it belongs, and not legal, because my politics essay is due on monday. Unfortunately my attention has been grabbed by an idea for a legal essay, even though from further reading I have completely reversed my position. But I still want to use the idea, because I really don't want to let go of it. I think it's as close to an original thought as you can possibly get in 1st year, so I'm guarding it with my life. That and, channelling Toby from TWW, I don't want to tempt the wrath from the whatever from high atop the thing, because I don't want to have to go outside, turn around three times and spit, because it's finally cold here now.
I have 2 actual days left of this break, and I really need to clean the dungeon. As in spring clean organize and possibly bomb and start again. I was going great last time, then got really sick, then I had weeks full of interviews in the city and then Uni started and my time was suddenly gone. I need a fit of cleaning to be done, and a separation of uni and good work clothes happening. So I'm thinking of partitioning the wardrobe to one side is the fancy stuff like the going out clothes and the suit and shirts, and the other side all the Uni stuff. I really need to sort out my shoes too. I'm a bit of a pack-rat, but I really need to do a sort of... stock take. And actually throw out the dead stuff...
So the plan is to get up nice and early tomorrow, so when the washing loads are going, I can do some work on the essays. But I really need to do some drastic re-organization. Chaos does not make for a peaceful mind. That and there might have been a process of evolution occuring under my bed. There's some strange noises coming from there.....
