For a long while now, Dr. Hunter S. Thompson has been nothing short of a hero for me. I shant go into details about this right now for there is nothing I could say about the man that can truly justify his actions and writings. However, the one thing I can never say enough is how large of an impact he had on the induction of "Gonzo Journalism" in American Society.
Anyway, what I'm leading up to is that of a man named H.L. Mencken. Not many people know about him outside of possibly English and Journalism majors, but it seems he was somewhat of a late-19th/early 20th century Hunter S. Thompson. Consider, for example, his apparently world-famous "Bathtub Hoax."
