I'm confused. But that's not new.

So, uh... today was ...

I'd use "interesting", but somehow, I feel that "what the..." suits things more closely.

Y'know, for someone so totally uninterested in 'normal' social interactions, I sure seem to end up at the centre of a lot of politics. The latest manifestation of this ability seems to have appeared at the college campus where I'm doing volunteer tutoring. Which is supposed to be in literacy and numeracy, but, uh... it seems the IT teachers want to conscript me for whatever time I can spare.

The fact that the IT classes run at the same time as the lit/numeracy classes do make this somewhat problematic.

I must admit, I don't fully understand all of the undercurrents that seem to be going on about this issue, but apparently the people who set up the entire volunteer tutor program are now on edge, worried that the other teachers will 'abuse' their volunteers. And of course, I'm the first person this has ever been requested of. Fun.

Add on to this various interpersonal dramas between the students -- including one student who seems to harbour some sort of lustful intent towards me, despite the fact that I have repeatedly stated that I find the whole concept vaguely distasteful -- and what seems to be turning into a multi-month attempt just to enrol in one mini-course, and which I am suspecting may very well turn into a multi-generational crusade at this rate, my day has been... well, interesting.

Let us never speak of this day again.

ETA: It has occured to me that, at the rate my life is going, I may very well end up eventually becoming a teacher. Oh, god, now I know I'm crazy.
