Character's Name: Angel Series: King of Fighters Timeline: Post-2001, after she and K9999 killed Foxy. (Or tried to, anyway, the KoF Anniversary page says she's alive, sooooo) Canon Resource Link and/or Canon History: Wiki had basically nothing, but this TripAtlas place delivers!
Why did your character accept the invitation?: Angel needs a new gig! The NESTS Cartel basically disintegrated after 2001, leaving her and her buddy K9999 a bit up the creek, and hey--any port in a storm, right?
Character's occupation: Fighter
Character's skills/abilities/talents: Angel's fighting style is pretty much a nameless, self-taught jumble of kickboxing-esque stuff and wrestling moves. This, combined with her dexterity and speed (she has a couple of moves that involve her moving too fast for the eye to follow in brief spurts) make her an extremely unpredictable opponent.
She's also apparently a really good goalie in soccer!
Personality: Angel is pretty laid-back for an elite agent in an international crime syndicate/world-conquering organization like NESTS. She loves her booze, her music, her motorcycles; she's capable of getting along with a high-strung nutjob like K9999. Her personality comes out a lot in the way she fights--rather than adhere to rigid forms and established techniques, she operates on more of a "go with the flow" kind of level. All in all, she's pretty ingratiating and easygoing.
Buuuuut, on the other hand, she does, y'know. Kill people who cross her and stuff. So it's not like she just kinda ended up in organized crime by mistake or anything.
Strengths: Physically and mentally, Angel is quick, flexible, adaptable. Throwing together a bunch of random moves and making an effective form of fighting out of it isn't something just anyone can do, and speaks to her ability to improvise when the situation calls for it. This makes her pretty emotionally steady as well--she's hard to fluster or catch off-guard. Weaknesses: Despite her ability to respond effectively, Angel isn't necessarily someone you want to be relying on in a pinch; she can be a little too laid-back, not taking things seriously even if the situation calls for it. Especially if she's, y'know, drunk, which she is at times.
Third-Person Sample: Angel sighed and rolled her eyes as K9999's motorcycle sped away, his profanity-laden ranting loud enough to reach her ears even as he began to fade into the distance. "Asshole," she muttered under her breath, though her heart wasn't really in it. The guy had his circumstances, she could understand that; she just happened to think that finding a steady source of income (and, if possible, protection from the law) was a bit more important than getting revenge on that K' guy. But, whatever, really. Who was she to argue? He'd be back one of these days, anyway. Setting all that business aside with a shrug, Angel turned, starting to remount her own bike.
There was an envelope on the seat. She peered at it for a long moment, trying to think past the tequila haze that was clouding her memories of last night. Did I just pick this up somewhere? It's not like someone coulda left it there while I had my back turned . . . right? Eventually deciding that some random letter wasn't really worth the headache, she picked it up and tore the envelope open, glancing over the contents.
A grin soon spread over her lips. Now this, this sounds fun, she thought. Just what she needed while her partner was off on his vengeance bender. And if it turned out to be a hoax, or a trap--well, she'd cross that bridge when she came to it. Either way, it was waaay more interesting (and potentially lucrative) than what she was doing now, which was really all Angel needed. Shoving the letter into a pocket and hopping onto her bike, she revved the motor and sped down the lonesome desert highway in the direction the invitation had indicated.
"Versus City, here I come! Can you taste The Angel's extraordinary skill?!"
First-Person Sample: 'Sup guys, this is Angel, age 19! I'm new, so go easy--hahahaha, nah, just kidding. No hard feelings if I break anything, 'kay? Give me a good match and I'll buy ya a round sometime!
Finally, what is Spekkio's favorite past time? Makin' up them silly magic phrases!
