"Playing with fire again, Lulu." The handsome soldier walked toward the two ladies. He had a bag with sweets in his hand. It was only a coincidence that he took the walk through the park instead the direct way back to the hotel.
His eyes fell on the grill and on the food right beside it on the table. "I´m sorry if I have interrupted something."

"Always," Lulu replied, smiling at Conrad's friendly teasing. At least she was playing constructively. She waited politely as Kaede explained that she was hosting a picnic, come one, come all.
"See?" Lulu said, when the female ninja finished speaking. "Nothing to apologize for. You're just in time." She winked. "Unless you've made other plans..."
oO but why then this sad smiley?guardian_conradJune 28 2009, 07:42:57 UTC
Conrad chuckled and took Lulu´s hand to give her a kiss on it. "I have always time for two lovely ladies." He had nothing planned for today. All he knew was that Yozak was busy again and that he would only sit down for a bit of reading.
Such a picnic would be a nice change and he could learn more about the other people. Which would help in his mission.
because i was sleepy and forgot to turn it upside down :Dchasing_furyJune 28 2009, 14:30:53 UTC
"Really, Conrad, you're too kind," Lulu effused, but her eyes and tone of voice said she enjoyed the company. So did the friendly squeeze she gave his hand when he kissed hers. She already considered him a brother guardian.
"Are you hungry?" she asked, gesturing toward one of the picnic tables. "It seems Miss Kaede is trying to outdo herself with a multicultural feast."
Hahaha, you can get sleepy?guardian_conradJune 28 2009, 18:19:24 UTC
He glanced over at the food table and the grill. It looked delicious. "By such an offer I can´t say no. Care to join me, Lulu?" Since their little ice cream sharing Conrad felt much closer to that mage as if they had bounded in some way.
on occasion ;pchasing_furyJune 29 2009, 01:35:58 UTC
Lulu smiled. "But of course." She glanced over to the grill again, where Kaede was juggling a pair of chef's knifes Teppanyaki style while tending the food. "Where shall we begin?"
"We could get something to drink and then we can see what tasteful creations she is creating." Conrad offered his arm to her, to lead her to the refreshing table.
"An excellent idea," Lulu agreed, taking his arm as she allowed him to lead their promenade. Oh, she knew he belonged to someone else, but that didn't change the fact that he knew how to make her feel like a real lady. Wakka could have taken a few lessons from this one, she thought. But then, Wakka was charming in his own clumsy way as well.
"I trust you've been well, since last we spoke," she said, returning her mind to the here and now--brushing the veil of hair from her eyes to show that she also was good as new. "It seems they've allowed us all plenty of time to recover before the finals, so we girls will all be fighting at our best."
And Conrad would always try to treat her like a lady. He led her slowly towards the refreshing tables, turning his full attention to Lulu.
"You looks wonderful today. Did you two came up with this idea?" A small breeze was playing with his hair, moving it away from his brown eyes. "I´m fine thank you. A few things came up which were a pleasant surprise for me." Conrad showed a relieved smile as she showed her healed eye. It was great to see that Lulu was fine again. "I will cheer for you two. I´m sure you both will do great in the tournament."
Lulu fairly glowed at the compliment. She was nearly always glowing, and she was much more at ease than she had ever been in the time of Pilgrimages. This time away had been good for her.
"Oh no," she said, "I'm afraid I can't take credit. It was all Kaede's idea; I just volunteered to help coordinate the details." Briefly, she fingered a pitcher of iced tea, lacing it with a touch of magic to keep it cool.
Looking back up at Conrad, she smiled, hardly missing a beat. She was learning to recover from casual spells much more quickly these days, and she was quite pleased to show that her progress had not halted with the coming of Calm. "Thank you," she said. Perhaps it was the new-found inner Calm that allowed her to express herself so freely, both in word and deed.
Conrad reached out and picked a small leaf from her hair. He had noticed the content look at her face, her whole body seemed to glow with an inner peace. somehow he guessed that this travel was the last stop for Lulu before a new chapter would begin in her life. He knew that feeling. Out of the corner of his eyes he noticed an orange spot wandering around and away in the direction of the other food tables.
A small smile flashed over his lips. It would be fair to say that Lulu and he were in the same boat. Conrad felt a slow growing feeling of peace awaken in himself which he never dreamed to feel again.
"What do you like to drink. I would like to spend the afternoon with you. Of course only if I´m allowed, Milady."
Lulu let her eyes drift partway closed, basking in the lovely day and the pleasant company, trying not to think how much she'd miss Conrad and Yozak when they all returned to their home-worlds.Better to enjoy the moment while it lasted.
"Mm, of course you're welcome to spend the afternoon with me," she hummed. "Though I don't think it's my permission you would need to ask." She was teasing, of course, but she'd always been good at reading her fellow guardians.
"You know what I like?" she asked, moving right along, "I like the iced tea with a little bit of lemonade for kick."
"Oh no, it´s only your permission I need. I assure you." Yozak wouldn´t say anything to it. He should know that Conrad wouldn´t cheat on him. Especially not after their first date together.
"Ice tea? Then you should receive what you desire." He went to get a glass and then the ice tea Lulu mentioned.
Lulu mirrored his expression, her shapely brow arching even higher. She knew the same way that she knew young Sir Tidus would fall hard and fast for Lady Yuna--and vice versa. The same way that she knew Yuna's younger cousin Rikku would melt away Wakka's prejudice against the Al Bhed. The only thing she hadn't been able to foresee was the melting of her own heart. Not that she minded.
"In that case, I thank you, Lord Conrad, you are most considerate," she said grandly, smiling as she tucked another whimsical strand of hair behind her ear. "There's no one else I'd rather spend the day with."
"Then Milady," he lifted her hand and gave the back of the hand a kiss. "We both will have a lovely afternoon together. Let´s get something to eat and after that we can talk about what happened since we saw us the last time."
"Very well," Lulu agreed, following Conrad around the table, where all the food was laid out. Deftly balancing her plate and cup, she helped herself to a number of tasty items. "Just don't forget to save room for dessert," she said with a wink.
His eyes fell on the grill and on the food right beside it on the table. "I´m sorry if I have interrupted something."
