Today was a busy, busy day oh yes it was. I volunteered this morning, then went shopping, and when we got home I discovered that Peter had bought mice despite the fact that the snakes just ate last weekend. So, we feed one snake and he eats the mouse right away. The second snake did not. She tried ot get away from the mouse rather than eat it.
I left my room for a while, which meant the snake was alone in the tank...with the lid off. I usually put the lid back on the tank when I feed them, but this time I thought, "theres no way she can get out anyway, how will she ever climb up the sides of the tank?". That was very foolish of me.
Upon reentering my room, I noticed that the snake was not in her tank. So, my two sisters, Peter, and I ended up tearing my bedroom apart looking for the snake. I have a lot of crap in my room. It is currently in shambles. After about ten minutes, when my room was in ruin and we were running out of places to look, I realized that the only way the snake could have gotten out was if she climbed up the side of the tank, onto her heat lamp, and onto the tall shelf right next to it (otherwise she would have taken quite a bad fall). I stood up on my bed to see if I could see her on the shelf, but I was too short. So, me, Kelly, and Katy were all sitting there jumping on my bed to try and see if the snake was on top of the shelf. We got my dad to move some of the things that were on the shelf, and behold, she was sitting nicely on top of the shelf the whole time. My room is still a mess.
