So first of all let me say that I didn't like this book. At all. It was predictable and the plot was very weak. Since I always say the first sentence has to pull you in and try to do that in my story here's the first sentence: You're listening to Sweet T on 92.7 WEMD SLAM FM. These little quotes from the radio are in every chapter the real chapter ( Read more... )

I HAVE NOTICED THE BAD GERMAN TOO.
and not just in books, but in mangas, too.
Mangas especially; I swear the Japanese have some sort of obsession with Germany and being German…probably 80% of the mangas I have read have at least one character who moves to Germany/speaks German/is from German decent/etc.
and most of the German is wrong. >___>
Maybe we should get jobs properly translating the German in books~?

I think if the author's tried more they could find a friend who knows german or has a friend who knows german.

I know what you mean. I have only seen german in Fruits Basket but I heard from a friend in the german dub of a Detective Conan movie they dubbed someone that spoke german in the japanese version in a german accent and then let someone translate it. XD Like they need to translate the accent to flawless german.
Any other Animes/Manga you know with german?

god, so many. I can't even remember the titles.
I know Whistle! has someone of German decent who moves to Germany; then I read another one which takes place in Germany; and I find a lot of ~artistic guys in mangas speak a bit of German.
oh, and then there's this gem:

lmao that's priceless.

I think that one Manhawa Ritter Der Königin (don't know the english/japanese name) takes place somwhere in Germany but I don't midn the setting as long as not everybody speakes wrong german there.

But then there are series like Weiss Kreuz and characters with names that are supposed to sound german...

It's okay when it's accurate though when it's just used to seem, interesting it's still weird. Like I read all this random german that people put in there for no reason. Why not have random spanish, chinese, italian etc. characters?
