NAVY

I never knew the year of hell I spent in the Navy could have been of any MATERIAL POSITIVE use in my life; but what do you know it most certainly does.

How you might ask? Well, I'll tell so you can just cool your jets there little kiddies. O.K. here goes. If a person was a Texas resident for 2 year prior to joining the military, stayed in the military for not less that 6 months and a day, was honorably discharged, is a current Texas resident, and is attending a Texas public university; then the said person qualifies for the Hazelwood act. This act will pay for all tuition (minus certain fees, such as library fees ect.) for up to 151 college credit hours, fucking BLAM!

Now, I just have to turn the paper work in and I'll be paying about 200 dollars a semester.

So should I be thankful for the hell I went through in the Navy for a year, NO NO NO NO NONONONONONO! I will though be glad that I received some sort of compensation for it.

Before anyone hits me with the whole it was your decision to do it trip; I demand: A. that you had been in the military; B. that you are now crazy because of A; C. that you be morally opposed to the idea of a military before and after you joined; finally D. if you meet these qualifications, then get off my back already.

The moral of the story is: sometimes our mistakes, while terrible and cruel, can be beneficial to us latter; and no that does not mean you have to be thankful for the mistake(s) you made in the past. Just be thankful that it worked out to your advantage.

Any way, that was a lot of info, so tanks for reading.
