Miai Update... plus a new fic. Maybe.

So, I figured I'd update my Miai readers on the next chapter since it's nearing the end of the month. :) I've tried to keep my updates with this fic consistent, but I really don't know if I'll be able to get this chapter out any time soon. To be honest, I've removed/altered/added so many scenes in this chapter that to me, it just seems all over the ( Read more... )

I'm so glad that my comment was of help to you. It's okay to want people to enjoy and read your fics, but you should focus on writing primarily for yourself. Write something that you enjoy, and something that you would want to read because in reality, not everyone likes the same stuff. It's impossible to write something that everyone will like, so write what you like and there will be people out there who have the same tastes.

And it's okay to have chapter after chapter of those day-to-day things, because even if someone else doesn't really care for those kind of chapters, they are often necessary to the plot line. Again, don't worry about writing chapters that may seem a bit slow. It may take a while for the story to get going at the pace you want it to, but readers will understand.

For example, I've seen you commenting on phillipthefrog's Forever & Ever. That fic is LITERALLY going on forever and ever. Sometimes big events go on, sometimes little events go on. There are a lot of chapters made up of just those day-to-day things, and a lot of people enjoy it. I'm not sure about everyone else, but honestly I'm not very sure where that fic is going, or what the plot is, but I love it. I love reading about the day-to-day lives of her characters, whether something huge is going on or not. This may be weird, but I actually made an account just so I could know when Forever & Ever and Miai were updated.

A teaser would be great, and I'm glad I can just Google anything I don't understand. That's so funny. I have a cousin that plays it, so if I can't find what I need on Google, I'll probably just ask him.

I'm glad that my comment meant a lot to you. I'm glad to know that some of the things I do while procrastinating aren't just a worthless waste of time. XD

It helped me a whole lot! I usually do write for myself, because I write what I want to read and therefore that's what most of my fics are about. Things that I would like to read about, things that I'm interested in, and therefore, want to write about. But I guess I just like pleasing other people as well... I'm just paranoid and anxious by nature, so I guess it shows sometimes. ^^"

Thank you! Yes, I like reading and writing about those simple fics. Some stories always seem to have "some big event" going on, and such without really showing day-to-day lives. Which is fine, I love stories that always have something happening, but that isn't my style of writing. Um. Most of the time anyway. :) But those chapters in Forever & Ever make my day, just as you said - there's no clear direction for the story, and I think that makes it more realistic. Because that's how life is, so I love how that story is portrayed and written. Oh and it's not weird, it's extremely flattering to know someone made an account to keep track of your story. :')

I'm trying to get the teaser up soon. I'm just trying to decide what exactly to post, since I have some random scenes written out already, but I just need to double-check it over and actually type it out (since it's on paper lol). I'm hoping it won't be too confusing. I'm hoping the story will flow very smoothly. (^^)

It really does mean a lot, so thank you again! Procrastinating will be the death of us, I swear. XD
