It depends where I am how prepared I'd be
During term, I'm on campus, and be completely unprepared, but I dont have that much stuff here that is really important, and I usually have a few overnight bags of clothes under the bed that I havent unpacked, so as long as I grabbed teh right one, and my cello, and my phone I think I'd be okay (unless the disaster took out the controls for getting out of the carpark, like fires in our actual building do)
it would be awkward if i grabbed my bag of ski things or my bag of swimwear instead of a bag of clothes, but not too awful, really.

If i'm at home, we're less prepared than we used to be - when we lived in the country, all summer mum would leave the duffel bag of photos and documents near the door.
Now, our photo albums mostly live in a bag, but that bag is buried in the storeroom and our important documents are in filing cabinets, some in the study and some in the cellar, so they probably wouldnt make it.
A huge part of that is the fact that we're not in a very vulnerable position - we're on a hill, so floods and tsunamis wouldn't be a problem, just an inconvenience in terms of getting in and out. When we get big storms, usually the gas stays on and we can use the oven for heating and cooking. Fires usually stop a few suburbs away, so that's good.

I guess we're less prepared than we used to be in terms of detailed plans, but we're also in less need, so we've got the basics taken care of and the rest we sort of figure out on a case by case basis. Mum still has all the shopping habits from living on a farm so we always have heaps of non-perishable food.

Our last big tropical storm my parents ended up cooking lots and lots of cookies to keep the oven on for heat, and we sat around drinking gluhwein and watching trees fly past, so i feel like we're doing disasters right.
