Well now, isn't this a pretty pickle
The last time I used this image :
it was because my job had been eliminated and there was a possibility that I wouldn't continue to be employed.
I was laid off this morning, after twenty-six plus years at the same firm. Of course, I wasn't the only one - the person I thought was going to take over my duties was let go about an hour after I was, so it sounds like it's a bit of a bloodbath. I can't help but take it personally, even though I know it's not meant that way. I was overhead, and then I was a number next to a ticky box - and then my box got ticked.
I'm feeling very weird - mostly okay, but weird - which I guess equals shock. And as some of you know, telling family and friends isn't exactly a picnic. I rather feel as though I've had a big "L" pasted to my forehead.
On the plus side, look at all the time I'll have to write! On the downside, no one gets paid for writing fanfic except Jane Espenson ;).
So, new chapter, turn the page!
