Squee. Slash goggles. Fangirling.

These are overused fandom terms that I don't associate with myself. As a rule, I don't squee, I am notoriously bad at discerning "slashable" pairings (they usually have to be pointed out to me), and fangirling is just a weird term all around.

Wow, talk about falling really hard, really fast! Sure, I was probably predisposed to like the Hawaii Five-O reboot - I imagined my reaction would be similar to the Star Trek reboot, one of amused affection. Buddy cop shows are my favorite, so I thought why not, give it a shot.

They had me as soon as they met in the garage.

So much to love. Chemistry, banter, Alex O'Loughlin shirtless at any plausible opportunity (and sometimes not so plausible), Scott Caan being a perfectly adorable Danno, character and relationship development, sometimes inane plots that nevertheless have enough of the aforementioned saving graces to make them enjoyable - and even better, I pimped aithine into the show and we've been on a tear ever since. Every single ep - only seven so far - has something fabulous, and I can hardly wait for the next one. And when I say no slash goggles required - I can't think of any show I've ever watched where the phrase "just kiss him already!" could be applied to at least one scene per episode.

I'd forgotten how fun this is, a shiny new fandom and all that goes with it. You know what's coming next *g*.

fandom works for me, h50 squee
