I posted not too long ago about my friend visiting and our
trip to the woods where we visited the site of where "Evil Dead" was filmed nearly 30 years ago in Morristown, Tennessee. I've scanned in a couple of photos - I warned you before there's not much to it, since the house itself burned some time ago.
Here's a wide shot of the woods and the site where it was filmed (with my friend Laurie in the center of it all). The stone chimney is still standing, and the pit Raimi & Co. dug to simulate descending to the nonexistent basement is still there:
Here is the chimney, close-up:
And Laurie being her usual attractive and charming self, being sucked down into the Pit O'Pretend-o-ment:
I was also vastly amused today by my parents. Among other things, they bought me a new CD player, a Beastie Boys Greatest Hits CD, a "Johnny Depp Life Story" teenybopper magazine, and two posters - one of Johnny and one of Orlando, both their close-up Rolling Stone covers. I feel like I'm about 20 years younger than my actual age, hee!
