Wonderful, as always. You weave an entire world together so tangibly in only a few words, and make it seem so effortless (when it isn't!). I particularly love 'veins pumping with brackish water' - very immediate and visceral imagery. *bows before the maestra*

At its sparest, I still had 150 words. It was like ripping me own heart out to trim it down, I tell ya! ;-)

Thanks for the feedback. I may take on the other 28 drabbles, if I can establish a theme for them. I prefer to think of the drabble, then find the title for it, rather than the other way around ...
