Torchwood Miracle Day

Love it. I know a lot of people out there say that Torchwood has become "Americanized", and boring, but I couldn't disagree more. I like that the story has a slow build. I like that they've revealed the secret-their "shockers"-to us bit by bit.

For example, I thought episode 5 was phenominal. It was suspenseful and intense and horrifying. I could not believe the ending. I was literally shocked. The episode came together so subtely. It was so great. I mean, the truth of what was happening at the "Overflow camps"...it just got to me at my core. Because we would do that.

In that hypothetical world where no one can die, they can only be obliterated, we would burn those we thought took up space. The undesirables. That's what we'd do.

And it's disgusting, and horrifying, because it's true.

And that's why I love Russel T. Davies as a writer. He's not afraid to appaul his audience, and he's not afraid to make our government(s)and humaninty in general the real monsters of his pieces. Because we are the real monsters.

In our world, we get older and we tell ourselves there's no such things as monsters. But that's not true. And we know it. Because we walk with monsters. Live with monsters. Love monsters.

We are the monsters.

And R.T.D. He just tells things how he sees them. Lol

In in this day and age, that's brave. That's brave televison.

*sigh* I know a lot of people are pleased he's left Doctor Who, let's just say I'm not one of those people. Lol

I'm not saying Steven Moffat is bad. I'm just saying I miss Russel.

Sometimes. Lol
