This whole putzying around has totally pissed me off and I've decided to no longer watch the CW at all. They had a chance to be a really good network that played witty shows, instead they just dumbed the programming down. I watch television to get away from reality, therefore I don't want to watch reality on television. Kind of defeats the purpose.

YAY someone I agree with! Reality TV is worthless and to be replacing VM with a whole slew of reality crap is seriously ... RAAAAAH

I don't get it. The CW now has no established "teen drama" One Tree Hill is only 1 show 1 night a week. Eventually there is not going to be room for another Pussy Cat Doll and as much as I like America's Next Top Model (for the total comedic value of it) the network has nothing to anchor it I see it going bust in about 2 years if not sooner. VM may not have done mad crazy with the nielsons but it had a devoted fanbase that brought in advertising dollars and it pulled in the right demographics and those loyal fans headed out and bought just about everything advertised durring or product placed in the show. AE had ahuge sucess with their Aerie line (even though the aerie girls were annoying) because of it's association with VM not to mention all the unfullfilled potential of other products simply based on the show..They litterally had the next Buffy licensing dream in their hands and they pissed it all away.. Some one should just take the whole network and rebuild it from scratch.

Completely agree... as a matter of fact there is an entire LJ community devoted to the fashion on the show and finding out where you can buy V's clothes, shoes, bags, etc etc you get the picture.
The only place I have to correct you is that technically the CW has two established teen dramas in OTH and Smallville but I mean how many more seasons can either one go? They've both pretty much gone belly up in my opinion... so yeah someone really should start them all over again. So instead of a show with fantastically three dimensional charaters we get complete dribble.

Smallville doesn't have the licensing potential because the writers and producers are paying for the use of the charachters and to the people who already hold the licensing so Smallville is not going to make money for them other than advertising dollars and those are going to paying the licensing.
One Tree Hill is a great show but you just can't jump in there and start watching. So it's not likely to bring in new viewers because it's way too hard to catch up.

hadn't thought of it that way... too true. Oh well I guess we'll see how it goes before too long. I don't think that company can last much longer if they keep running crap like farmer wants a wife.

Yeah that is a pretty bad show idea. It's like what next America's next top reality tv show star...
