Sheriff Mars Spec
I was re-watching "Papa's Cabin" last night and was pondering the future of Keith as Sheriff and what that would mean to the show and his relationship to Veronica. It certainly is a deviation from the noir premise but could lead to some interesting conflicts between our dynamic detective duo. Then a thought occurred to me. What if the affair with Harmony comes back to haunt Keith and causes him to lose the election? Here's how I see it playing out:
The Fitzpatricks HATE Keith because a) he's put a number of their family members behind bars and b) he is bad for business because he is actually competent and "dogged" (as Celeste Kane once put it). Who happens to work for the Fitzpatricks? None other than Vinnie Van Lowe. Vinnie, if you recall, was hired by Harmony's husband to find out it if she was having an affair. Vinnie got the money shot of Keith and Harmony, which we have to assume he still has in his possession. I can see how easily this photo could get leaked to the press at the worst time in Keith's campaign for Sheriff. It would essentially kill his chances for re-election, thus leaving Mars Investigations intact. It would most definitely destroy Harmony's marriage as well, so there may be a Rico/LauraSG "happily ever after" after all.
