Logan the bad boy?

Just some thoughts on Logan and Veronica's relationship in this weeks ep, and how people seem to be responding to it.

So, I'm seeing a lot of people commenting on Logan's behavior in the last episode. Some people liked it, some people didn't, but everyone seems to be saying he was in the wrong, or treating Veronica badly. Which I don't get, 'cause frankly, I think Veronica was by far the worse of the two.

What exactly did Logan do?

-He agreed to attend a party at which there would be pretty girls (which is only a problem if Veronica doesn't trust him).
-He wasn't eager to try out some of the artsy and intellectual things Veronica was interested in (so he was being inflexible--not great, but not awful, either; it was a pretty casual conversation. Plus, a few days later he decided to give it a try.)
-He told Veronica he'd stop by and see her at work, but ended up going gambling instead (again, not great, but not awful, either, especially considering that all he could have done was stop by and say hi--she was working after all. The gambling itself, at this point, is no big deal--it's not like he has a shortage of money and they only show him doing it once).
-He was annoyed that she'd tracked him down (um, who wouldn't be, I'd be pretty pissed if my boyfriend was tracking my cell phone and acting so distrustful.)

I think that's it. Maybe he lied to her about the class that Dick skipped (hard too say, I don't exactly trust Dick), but that hasn't been proven one way or the other yet.

Veronica, on the other hand:

-got whiny after seeing Logan agree to go to a party (um, why didn't she just ask to go with him?) and started guilt-tripping him about not doing stuff with her (as if her schedule's been really open with all the investigating she did last episode, and really, it's unfair to expect him to suddenly be interested in artsy stuff when he wasn't before).
-immediately assumed he was up to no good when he didn't show up at the library, and used a tracking device to find him, and pulled him away from what he was doing so she could get on his case about it (distrusting, disrespectful, acting like he has to run every action by her and make sure she approves).
-assumed he was lying about the class because of what Dick said (since when does Veronica trust Dick?) and about the Mexico thing to the point that she put a tracking device in his car (paranoid much? Okay, so she took it out later, but it was still pretty extreme).

Most of what Logan did seems like typical guy stuff to me--he's having fun during his freshman year, resisting his girlfriend's attempts to change him into an intellectual, and getting annoyed when the girlfriend doesn't trust anything he says. The stuff Veronica did was verging on abusive-controlling--wanting to know where he'd be and with who every second, interrogating him about things like whether he'd attended a particular class. And even Veronica seemed to realize at the end that she'd been the one at fault--notice that she apologized to him for being over-controlling, and didn't expect an apology from him.

So why is everyone saying Logan was screwing up? Maybe you're all spoiled for future episodes I don't know about, but based on this episode on its own, I'm not seeing it.

Sorry for the long post! I didn't realize I had so much to say until I started writing.
