As I sat there, rain pouring down, I gazed out the window. It had been an uncommonly rainy season, maybe that was some sort of life omen thing. Lately I'd been wondering what my mom and Jake Kane's first date had been like. A thought that a year ago, would have never crossed my mind. I wondered if it was nice, romantic, anything like the first date Duncan and I went on. And on that eww factor, I kind of wished I wasn't wondering. Mostly I wondered why they broke up. And why mom was suddenly paying him visits again.
