If a/the TARDIS has a working chameleon circuit, what does it look like in it's original state?

I don't think anyone has ever seen a Tardis in their original state. Even when other Tardis' have shown up they look like other things. The Master's looked like a grandfather clock, and the Rani's was an actual space ship. This is going WAY back the episodes from the 3rd and 4th Doctors.
