food. VS. FOOD!

Okay, so I made a decent meal tonight- which I feel is an accomplishment worth noting, since lately we have been eating fruits, veggies, and cereal, you know quick foods that don't feel really like a meal, persay. I think it is funny, how the way you word things, can totally change the feel, and thought of what it is you are thinking, like in the example of dinner. I could write it down as:

fish
corn
tomatoes
watermelon

Sure, it sounds okay, but look at it written this way:

Pan Seared Tilapia fillets with a reduction of fresh garden tomatoes, sliced button mushrooms, and butter sauce

Local sweet Sugar corn with Cracked Black Pepper

Sweet tomatoes with garlic sea salt

Sugar Baby watermelon slices

Isn't it interesting? Just a passing thought, which I have thought before and didn't note it in writing.

Anyhow, busy here. Oliver is about done with theatre group, which he loves! Saturday morning is his perfomance at the theatre, unfortunately due to the size of his class and the size of the theatre, I can't invite everyone and his brother, which is a bummer. But I will record it!! We have gotten more familiar with downtown and Strawberry Square the past few days, and Guen will never tire of the revolving doors :)

Heidi is going on her birthday adventure to NYC with Uncle Adam and Aunt Hayley Friday! She is excited, almost as much as I am....my baby is gonna be 11! She is growing up into a pretty little lady, if I do say so myself!

Guen is LOVING soccer practice so far, she wakes in the morning on soccer day, and wants to put her shin guards on FIRST thing! I am thinking she is getting the hang of the game, as opposed to last time when she made gazillions of circles around the other players.

This summer has flown, lots has happened...Uncle Brian and Uncle Mathew visiting, Jake and Naomi visiting, pretzel and chip tours, HersheyPark happy, swimming, gardening, canning, freezing, building a new roof on the porch, biking, hiking, waterfalls, drive ins, Zoos, Washington Dc, hotel, etc...it was one great summer!

School is around the corner, the 25th. Steelton is wanting the kids to wear a type of uniform this year- it really does make sense, but also is a tad of a bummer for those who already bought school clothes, or those who don't have $ to outfit new ones. They need royal blue, grey , or white polo shirts, and no logo pants. Really isn't that bad. I don't like seeing 2nd grade hoochy momma's and homies, do you?

Code is cracking down in the hood, which once again, isn't that bad, really...but sucks if you lack excess funds and time, like we do! At least we got one thing done that they wanted us too so far.

Alright, Literati calls me, and my book, so I am gonna answer the calls.

*Peace*
