Statement: The more I interact with politics in America, the more I understand why some people are terrorists.
Explanation: Trying to make a case for a political ideology is a difficult process. At its base, you're literally deprogram people of the beliefs and ideas (which isn't easy), and in America that means doing a lot of menial grassroots tasks: blogging, knocking on doors, organizing rallies and protests, paying for TV and radio airtime, etc.
So for a fraction of that same time, money, and effort put forth in protesting and making signs, you can make fertilizer bombs and hold guns to people's heads* and say "believe what I do or else." It's not a very polite way to go, but stuff definitely gets things done.
* - This is a horrible idea. I'm not advocating it - I'm just saying "I can see why people do it."
