My Spanish has improved pretty significantly ever since I started working at Fellini's. Simple sentences like "where is the _____" really go a long way when you work in or near a kitchen. Though I hit a pretty intense communication barrier yesterday when I was trying to explain the significance of the hadron collider to one of the cooks. With the help of the store's Spanish-English dictionary I managed to say "It is a scientific experiment that might annihilate the whole world," and his eyes got as wide as dinner plates.
I need to work on my Spanish particle physics vocabulary.
School starts on Tuesday and I'm ever so excited. I know that it'll pretty much eat up all of my time but at least I'll get that nebulous feeling that I'm accomplishing something (instead of the nebulous feeling that I'm not).
And also this guy I met over the weekend wants to have dinner with me some time. He's pretty cute, but when we first met I got the feeling that he wasn't interested in me at all. I guess he must be on at least some level, otherwise he wouldn't want to go on a date. Maybe this is a sign of my romantic luck turning around? Hope so.
