I keep to myself in the evenings, straight home after work, ferreting around under a looming deathtrap to bash it into shape.
A matter of moments it was, where moments stretch into minutes, to remove the clutch line and buff 'n' paint the bit I missed, though photographs again reveal more. I should really use a proper light.
Up the front the lines are more easily bolted in, and the clamps are already painted, except for these ones from some line I haven't identified but might be the oil-cooling radiator feed.
Back to shiny metal it was, and then the paint. Heat it with the air gun and let it cool.
While it's cooling get the gear cables attached, and completely ignore the surface rust all over that bracket. That's an inside job.
The emotional state I am now in seeing this all together and engaged, words fail me. Even the smell of the cab is nostalgia-inducing for my journey of transformative braining.
Yeah and the underneath bolts all together very well.
I know. The radiator is not attached. Nor are the brakes. It's not visible here, but neither is the diff to transfer case drive shaft universal. Also, still have to shim 'n' circlip the ends of the front axles, where they go through the hubs. And put split-pins in the ball joint nuts. And maybe a bit of an attempt at a wheel alignment...
...then drive it out and turn it around and bring it in and pull the rear diff off.
