Nice, selfish, unassuming weekend in the W house the past few days. Lots of movies, food, and errand running and a not so regretful decline on a few horrible sounding NYE parties

The Name Game, part 2
This whole stupid thing with the names annoyed me last night.
The IL's responded about the same as my mom, but in a nicer way. They apparantly didn't read the sentence that I sent saying 1) no other submissions will be accepted, and 2) kid will be called by his first name, not his middle name

5 Favorite Things
Taking inspiration from my FL and from The Oprah, list 5 of your favorite things that are within non-Oprah budget (i.e. no diamond encrusted watches!!!)
Here's what keeps me sane these days:
--Kneipp herbal baths- little bottles of German Wonderness that smell heavenly, color the water, but don't stain the tub. Lavender and Juiniper are wonderful. Not so much 'oils' as they are aromatherapy -- and really natural smells, not fakey 'bath and body work' kind of lavender

I've been going nutso taking 40 or so photos a day of Benjamin for the purposes of creating the perfect baby announcement, and also because hey, he's a good subject.

its been a blah kind of day.....my mental state matched yesterday's grey and rainy weather.
Judd's at work today for a co-worker's memorial -- guy was cycling home and hit by a car, died 5 days later. His family had been doing an hour-by-hour update on blogspot and its really horrid to go back and read. It was apparant from the moment of the accident that if he had survived, he'd have years and years of recovery, and most likely never return to his former self. Judd said that as a scientist, that would be the worst thing ever. Not to be sarcastic, but would he have remembered what he use to do?

Experiment #1
So at 10 weeks, I'm trying to break the pacifier-at-bedtime habit before it starts. He's found his thumb fore-knuckle and is happy to suck away. He usually spits out the pacifier pretty frequently, so it isn't uncommon for him to sleep without it (its one of those Soothie ones that doesn't stay in really well)

okay, so I'm gone (sorta) for about 10 days and everyone's setting up Vox accounts? Is everyone leaving LJ or just setting up a seperate blog site for future reference? I ain't going anywhere anytime soon, but if enough of you DO abandon LJ, I guess I'll have to set up an acct there to read along......

Rainy Day Productiveness
