Two THREE things happened yesterday that make me wonder why we all don't go insane in December.
1) Flying Food
Yesterday was the 'pot luck lunch' at my office-gym. After kickboxing for an hour, I got myself a plate with some meatballs, taco dip, veggies & dip, etc. I get into the (full!) elevator with my gym bag on my shoulder, my bottle of water under my arm, and a plate of food in my hand.
Elevator stops on 4, I move out of the way, person exits, I relocate, doors close.
Elevator stops on 5, I move out of the way, person exits, I relocate, doors close.
Elevator stops on 6, before I can move out of the way, Woman Carrying Large Box declares "I gotta Get off!!!" and before I can step out of the way, she plows past me. Plate leaps in air, makes 45 degree turn, heads straight for wall/co-worker. Co-worker ducks, food explodes on wall/floor of elevator. Woman carrying box runs away going "ooho!" while doors close.
Meanwhile, the elevator keeps making stops while we try to clean up the mess, doors opening and closing, crushing a few Wheat Thins on the way.
(yes, I DO go back down for another plate, but wait till I get an empty elevator)
2) $200 worth of copies
Our printer is broken at home, so I decided to save our 2-page, photo heavy christmas letter on a CD and take it to Kinkos or Office Depot to get 50 double sided copies made. You want to know the going rate for Color copies these days? $2.00 a page.
I would be spending $200 on copies. I can buy a new color printer for $80.
Cards will be a little late this year......we have to set up our new printer.
3) Shiatsu this!
FIL wanted a
Shiatsu massage cushion for Christmas. Everywhere online was sold out. Finally found one at the brick-and-morter Discovery Channel Store that was 'upgraded' from the normal Hometics one (read: pleathery!). Walked to store near work, tested it, loved it, bought it, lugged it back to the office, lugged it home, wrapped it, sent Judd to Post Office to mail it off.
Yesterday, I'm in Costco, hobbling down the aisle as I've developed a bit of either Sciatica or hip pain, and what do I see? The non-pleathery Shiatsu cushion, for $50 less.
I bought it as an early Christmas present for myself.
