My mom finally saw Donnie Darko...here are her thoughts...
there is an underlying question which is age old. whether or not everything is pre-determined (that being our futures) if nothing is going to change then there is no free will. you can't decide or change anything. things will happen as planned. can you make your own future or is it pre determined? pre-determined could mean God or just physical/natural causes. in other words just cause and effect. he talked a lot about time travel. went to noah wylie to ask all those questions. he wonders, i guess that if he went back could he change things. he did go back, went in that
swirly tornado like thing- vessel was perhaps plane that mom and sis were in- and things did change because he got killed, which saved the life of his girlfriend cuz now she didn't get killed etc. etc. anyway who really knows? did you notice that his mom was "stands with a fist" ?
