Today I am chillin' and veggin' because Town Meeting is done! Sixteen hours (give or take a couple of hours), from setting up the gym and voting area early in the morning until counting write-in votes and calling all the local TV and Newspapers with results. With all the running and answering questions Town Clerks do that day, by the end we really have a hard time finding our sense of humor. What gets me is some of the newspaper/tv people I call with election results. I have had several ask me if they can have my home phone number, just in case they have questions later on. Can you believe it? "Noooo" I tell them, "my vote tally isn't going to magically change between now and 8:00 tomorrow morning, so if you have any further questions ask me now or you can call me tomorrow at work!" I know I sound grumpy when I say this but really, what do people think? Well anyway, it's done for another year and I celebrated with a nice glass of wine last night.

I'm really excited about my third and final quilting class tomorrow with Christine. We are making a nature scene. I have completed my dragonfly and am still working on my butterflies and hedgehog. I have some tree branches done on my background and have to do my spider web and spider. I just love it, it is so fun! Had some problems at last week's class with my sewing machine. It jammed up and totally destroyed my first dragonfly! That was okay though, because I think my second one came out much better. I also talked with Christine and showed her the picture of the quilt I want to make of a London landscape. She was very encouraging, telling me that if I have an idea in my had for a quilt I need to make it. She even offered her assistance when I'm in the process of making it. I really must start looking for material to begin it. I also want to write to the store in London where I can get a poster of the painting and I also want to write to the artist, asking him for his permission to use his painting to make the quilt. Isn't that something you have to do, if you are going to make some kind of copy of an artists painting? It seems like the right thing to do. I would never think of using something of someone else's without their permission first.

Finally, as a Vermonter, no LJ entry of mine is complete without talking about the weather! LOL
We have had such an unusually mild winter this year. We have absolutely no snow on the ground! Normally we don't see all of the snow gone until April sometime. I hope the weather isn't to hard on the maple sugar makers. They really need warm days and below freezing nights in order to have good sap flow. The lack of snow this winter has hurt the skiing industry so I hope it isn't a double whammy with the sugar makers.
