It seems there are certain events that the LJ police will come to your door with dogs if you don't post about them, and "I-just-moved-into-my-new-apartment-and-finally-got-my-internet-working" is pretty high on the list. So yeah.
Pretty cool place, too. Pretty big bedrooms, pleasantly grungy feel, and conveniently located between a kickass taqueria, a cool hole-in-the-wall junk shop/record store, a movie theater, a 24-hour supermarket, and, uh, Best Buy (which isn't as cool, per se, but still comes in handy). And Stacey's living with us now, which is amply awesome (watch for Demon gigs!)
Truth be told, I've kinda enjoyed not having internet (we moved in Wednesday night, and I just got online this morning). I mean, of course I need to be connected, but it feels pretty good not to have that easy opiate around. Got a lot of reading in. Just think: this is how people lived ten years ago.
I'm thinking I need to hit up Star Market for some Doritos, so I'll wrap things up here. Lotsa stuff's happened in the past week or so that I probably would have posted about normally. Went home for the Parker 10th Anniversary thing. Sold a kid looking for a "witty comedy" Martin Scorsese's After Hours. Dave's current ladyfriend mistook my Sonic Youth CD for fan noise. Heard a radio broadcast about ManDogs (a few of you know how mind-blowing that is). A creepy old guy hit on me at work. A different creepy old guy told me a story about how he put his penis in a jar of Lysol because his hooker looked infested. And I had a genuinely spiritual channel-surfing experience involving Terry Gilliam, the Spanish channel, a fire & brimstone preacher, and lots and lots of lions. There is a story behind each of those that I don't feel like writing right now; respond if you're curious about any of them, and I'll post a follow up.
Doritos ahoy!
