[Good day to you all, Vatheon! This is Vietnam on the feed, appearing to be dressed up as a red mage (with a cool feathered hat and everything). She looks more confused about this than surprised, considering she's been on the look out for curses ever since they've been mentioned to her ( Read more... )

[The smiling Canadian on the other end of the video was wholly unaffected by the whole thing it seemed. He was dressed in his normal clothes and had no username or any bars or stats or anything floating nearby.]

Thankfully, yes. Most seem to be temporary. I haven't experienced one that was permanent yet.

[She notices! Part of her feels that he's much luckier than she is, because she's still worried about side effects.]

Ah, thank goodness. Are they usually this bizarre as well?

I'm not entirely sure what to do.

[It completely befuddles him as well, but then again he doesn't know much at all about gaming or anything.]

...usually? Unfortunately yes. The last one had floating thought bubbles that displayed everything a person was really thinking/feeling/etc.

...sorry I can't help much with this one, though. I'm probably as lost as you are.

[Same with her! Unless she's mooching of Japan.]

Oh yes, I heard of that one. A gossiper's dream, it sounds like.

It's fine! [She smiles and waves her hand] I guess it'll come to us eventually.

[...and accidentally sets the napkins on her table on fire. A sign of poor gaming.] Goodness! I need to learn to control this!

[He likes to use the excuse that such games are after his time.] It was, really. I avoided most people then and only used voice when speaking to people.

[It was a way around it, obviously. And he really hadn't felt like sharing things with others.

...that current little incident, though, had him looking surprised.] Y- you really should be more careful. Is everything okay, though?

[That's a good idea, she's still got a ways to go, so she'll...borrow that.] That's a good strategy there. It would avoid most of the awkward encounters after the whole curse was lifted.

[She laughs awkwardly as she puts out the fire with a bowl full of water.] Every thing is fine, it was only a small fire! I may have to go outside and practice. Having magic is actually...very strange.

[It's a good excuse to have. And can generally be seen to be true. Depending on what it is he's talking about.] That's how I looked at it. [That and it made it a lot harder to lie.]

Okay. I would probably assume that it has something to do with this whole new curse, but I'm not sure what. Practicing in an open space may be what is best.

Thankfully, your luck is good this time round, otherwise what just happened to me might occur.

[Awkward laugh!] It really feels like those games Japan and Korea frequently play, MMORPG, I believe. I really should though, in case I set something else on fire.

Also, how are you feeling?

For the time being, anyway. There's always a chance I'll wake up and suddenly be in the same boat.

...what's an MMORPG? [He looked completely and utterly clueless about what that could possibly be. Aside from some sort of, well, game since she had specified it as a game and all.]

All things considered, I'm feeling just fine. And yourself?

Are their chances of people ending up getting cursed much later than the others?

Ah, let's see...it's a roleplaying game, the MMO standing for "massive multiplayer online", because they use the computers to connect everyone within the game.

[She smiles in relief] That is good. I'm fine, I believe I may have gotten lucky in experiencing my first curse, since at the moment, it appears tame.

Sometimes it doesn't show up right away, I don't think.

[...he still looks utterly clueless for a few moments before it seems to dawn on him.] O- oh! I get it. Sort of. So instead of playing, like face-to-face, people join together in the same game online and play as if they were together. Right?

It does seem to be on the tame side, thankfully. Hopefully it stays that way.

I see, my goodness, curse weeks must really raise paranoia.

[She nods and smiles!] Yes! It's very popular right now, because you can play with hundreds, even thousands of people at a time!

I do too. And if they unleash a boss monster, hopefully these spare lives will help me.

Sometimes it does have a way of doing that. Though, this one seems a bit fun. Except for the fact that there probably will be some boss monsters or something. [Or something or whatever they are. Perhaps he'd find himself joining in later as it did seem fun. Even if he still didn't understand it at all.]

Those games sound fun, though. It's something I can look forward to.
