I'll be honest here, I haven't really been paying too much attention to LJ/DW- which mostly has to do with
blind_go and work kicking my ass, to be honest. ^_^; But eh. So what's up?
☁ AP form sent out. $25 is a little bit of an ouch just to get a score mailed out, but considering how much one class costs, it's a bargain. Once the school gets that, we'll see about changing the Sociology 100 to Social Psychology. ^^ Still need to call the doctor's office and have my immunization records sent out. Need to do that next week. >_<
☁ I feel like I should say something about Obama and his finally claiming his position for gay marriage. On one hand, yes, this is good. On the other, I have two reactions: one, it's about god damned time; and two, what is he going to DO about it? The announcement is clearly politically motivated, considering the timing, so I just worry that he's going to say this and then nothing is going to come of it. Aside from that, it's a big risk and I'm not convinced that it'll pay off. He may have just won Romney the election.
☁ There is apparently a Thai food place downtown I didn't know about. I've never had Thai food and I'm curious, so... hopefully soon I'll be able to go. Kelly likes this place, so that's saying something. We're trying to coordinate a day to go down when we both have off and it's not super crappy outside... which is more difficult than it sounds, lately. So we'll see. ^_^
☁ I rescued my discs for Tales of Symphonia from the evil Gamestop with no problems. The funny part is that when the guy looked at my original receipt, he did one of those "it figures" snorts- I assume it was at the name of the original cashier on there, which leads me to believe that there are issues with this guy. Which does not surprise me, as he was WAY too pushy about trying to sell me other stuff. Anyway. I've been playing that. ^^ There are a few things I find frustrating about it, but I'm only about 8-9 hours into it, so... we'll see.
☁ Suikoden Tactics came in through Gamefly. Reactions? The voice acting is distractingly bad. On the game itself, I'm kind of meh- I'm not much for strategy games like this, but I figured I'd give it a shot- but the voice acting makes me want to stab things. God. Also hating this just as much as the Final Fantasy counterpart... guess that wasn't a fluke. Happily put that one in the mailbox yesterday morning, let me tell you.
☁ I forgot to talk about Kirby's Return to Dreamland, which I borrowed from the library a couple of weeks ago- it's totally adorable, much like Kirby's Epic Yarn. I didn't get to play it a whole lot, but it definitely seems like something that's worth getting. ^_^
☁ Apparently, Pottermore is finally open- they give you a choice between five usernames to choose from, so my username on that is CrimsonMoonstone23850. If you're on there, friend me if you'd like. :D Two major disappointments, though, so far- first is the sorting. I've always identified more with Ravenclaw than any of the other houses. So what do I get upon my sorting? Slytherin. UGH. >_< The other thing is that they have the main story part, which allows you to go through the story and collect items and find out little bits about characters and places that JK never published (you get a whole backstory on Professor McGonagall, for example, which is actually really cool). They only have the first book up. Which, you know, you can get through that relatively quickly, so... eh. (Also, as a side note, Potions are ridiculously hard. Casting spells, too, is difficult- though I think part of that is the fact that I use the laptop pad and not a mouse. I'll have to try it with the latter at some point.)
☁ Somehow finished BG. I'd sent it to someone a couple of hours before deadline, though, and I don't know what the HELL possessed me, because she was like, yeah, this and this and this doesn't work for me. Soooooo that involved some rewriting, including an entirely new ending, at the last minute. Ugh. Whether or not my submission was any good or not is clearly up for debate, but... I'm mostly glad I finished. Mostly. ^_^; I've already been guessed by two people, though. Whoops. So much for stealth mode.
☁ While I've been absent from LJ/DW-land, the Hikago team battles wrapped up. The results for my team...
Well. That's embarrassing.
On the upside, I somehow managed to win the icon contest- okay, I know it says "fucking" on it, but STILL, wasn't expecting it. My favorite of mine got two votes, and ONE OF THEM WAS ME. (Before anybody says anything, it was the ONLY icon of mine I voted for, and it was far enough behind that I didn't feel guilty about voting for it. It wasn't going to win regardless of what I did. XD) So, the ones I'm willing to admit to- and they were NOT all in a row, so you can't assume everything between is mine. Mwahahaha.
Hug (this one was my personal favorite ^_^):
Falling (which is actually fairly similar in concept to one of Lish's, except Lish's is easier to read, heh):
Shut Up (I'm pretty sure everyone who knows me knew this was me. I just love this moment!):
Aaaaand that was it! *whistles innocently* Seriously, the rest? Not my finest work. BY FAR. Like, there are some that I seriously CRINGE at when I see them. What the hell was I even thinking? Oh well. Still, I got a few good ones out of it, so I'm happy with that. :D
...I really should start posting more so these don't get so ridiculous. Eh.
