Old Friends...and Changes
Met up with an old (former) neighbor friend today and we took a nice walk around the 'hood, accompanied by her 9-month old baby girl, Olivia Fayth.
This woman was a spitfire when she lived here...world's shortest fuse and quick to tell you where to get off. It's amazing to see what a change can do to a person...she is so much calmer and more pleasant to be around. Now she still has her edge (like me, I doubt she's ever going to completely lose it--it's part of what makes her who she is), but it's much more subdued and she is truly more fun to be with. She doesn't carry the weight of the world on her anymore, and she's learned how to say no.
So, I wonder...maybe there's hope for me. :)
