Last night was lovely--seeing the Old Year out and the New Year in with my oldest friends from college days--we played Tripoley, wore silly hats, blew horns, snapped crackers, watched the ball drop, toasted the new year and our friendship, and had tons of good food to eat!
Today was a lovely start to the new year--quiet & peaceful, here at home. Biscuits & bacon for breakfast, watched the Tournament of Roses Parade from Pasadena, made a good start at cleaning out & organizing my guest bedroom (which is a holiday/craft room when not being used by a guest), talked to my mother-in-law, had black-eyed peas, ham & biscuits for dinner tonight, had Christmas music playing in the background all day, and lit a candle at suppertime just for me, and to celebrate a new year!
Saturday brings brunch with 2 old friends and our gift swap, a foray to Target for really warm underwear, and possibly a movie in the afternoon.
Happy New Year, friends!
