Labor Day Weekend
A swimming party last night--I took an appetizer tray and a lemon cake, with white icing.
Then this evening, I grilled at home for a very select group (namely, me)--I had 2 hot dogs, and ate them sitting in my back yard, drinking a Coke and watching the sun set. It was very peaceful--the only noise was the occasional barking of my next-door neighbor's basset hound Molly, or a plane taking off or landing.
Before that, I cleaned off the dining room table, put away the summer centerpiece (red/white/blue candles) and began to get ready for fall decorating, which will take place tomorrow.
It's funny--this is the first Labor Day that I've not actually had as a holiday, since I'm retired now--and in some ways it feels more like a holiday than the ones I had when I was working. Go figure.
Anyway, if I can , I'll post a picture of me at the swimming party last night--we'll see how that works.
