Twilight Time

So I stopped by the mall on the way from dinner tonight (met a friend for an early dinner at Chili's), with the intention of only hitting the Hallmark store for some cards.

There's a Brentano's books nearby, and I stopped in--I can't resist a bookstore. While this one isn't my destination of choice, they had the Stephanie Meyer "Twilight" books displayed--seems they had a release party last Friday night.

I nabbed the first one to see what it was like, came home and started reading it. So far, I like it a lot--she does a good job of creating characters that I can visualize in my mind's eye.

Oh, and in other news, it's marginally less hot now--only 95 or so, rather than the 99 we had after 9 PM the other night.

Tomorrow I'm taking a shift in my church bookstore for a couple of hours to see how I like it.

Last night, I went to a new Bible study (for women) that a girl at church is trying to get started--I'm not at all sure that I'm going to continue, for a couple of reasons: first is that, from the way it was described, the material they're using involves watching a video and filling in blanks in a workbook. Sorry, but my idea of Bible study is more in-depth than that. The second reason is that the author of this material tends to come from a fundamentalist theological perspective, which is definitely not my angle. The leader is asking the bookstore to order the books--I'll wait till they come in and look at one, before committing to this.

theology, books, volunteering, bible study, cards, twikight
